Tanya Burr Meet Up!

Did anyone else go to the Tanya Burr meet up?! I sure did!

I'm a HUGE fan of Tanya Burr so when I heard about the meet up I new I'd have to go! On the 29th of May, I headed down to the train station along with my sister and one of my best friends Sadie and caught the train to London... It took about 30 mins, and we were in London for 12, 4hours before the meet up!

We spent this time, walking around trying to waste time in shops, but by half 2 we were back in covent garden, sitting outside apple, in anticipation waiting for Tanya's arrival!
Their was a crowed of about 100-150 girls scattered around, blogging, taking photos and waiting also for Tanya. Finally Tanya arrived and a huge swarm of girls surrounded her. I wasn't too far away, I could see her but I was getting squashed! To make it even better some guys behind us thought it would be hilarious to let a stink bomb off behind us!

We were all herded across covent garden towards David and Goliath where I presumed security were going to form a queue, but no! Tanya was ushered into the store and that was the last we were to see of her. The mass of people their was HUGE several thousand, and half of them I think we're just joining in to see who it was, which ruined it for aloof us fans!

I was absolutely gutted. Luckily on the way home, we found a random Tesco's and I spotted Tanya's best friend Kate! I was too nervous to go up to her, but my sister and Sadie did! She was so nice, and spoke to us for several minutes, I got to give her my letter I'd written to Tanya and she was going to pass it on for me! I really appreciate her chatting to us! She could have quite easily denied her friend was Tanya and carried on with her day! Then without time to even recover meeting Kate, we bumped into Louis Cole from Food For Louis! Wow what a crazy day!

I'm still gutted I didn't get to meet Tanya Burr but overall my day was okay!

Revlon Moon Candy Review

I bought this product at Boots. It usually costs £7.99 but had £2 off so it was only £5.99. I bought this item in the colour '200 - Moon Dust'

The product comes with a opaque base coat (this one is black) and a holographic top coat.
When I first saw this product I was intrigued at how it would turn out, as the swatches in the shop looked great!

The base coat was okay to apply. I wasn't too keen on the brush, as it didn't fan out over the nail very easily and was just an awkward shape. I found I needed quite a lot of product on my brush to get an even coat. The black coat was VERY black and you only needed one coat is was great!

I also found the top coat needed a fair amount of varnish on the brush to get an even coat, but once it was on I loved the effect It gave! You don't have to be skilled and painting nails to get an amazing effect with these nail polishes! They also have a great range of colours too!

I'd rate this product 8/10 as I love how it turns out and it dries very quickly!

Hate& Rate by Guest Blogger Sadie!

Product I Rate-

I am in love with my borjous khol and contour brown eye liner pencil. I bought this as I was really disappointed with another eye pencil that I had purchased beforehand and sobadly needed one! It £4.99, so not the cheapest out there but I think it’s really worth it as it’s a great product. I line my bottom water line on a daily basis and this is a great eyeliner for that as it is super smooth and easy to apply, and gentle on your eyes, as I find some eye liners can be quite harsh and difficult to use. It is also good for lining your top lash line and for doing cat eyes etc. You can buy this product from boots and Superdrug in the UK and it also come in black and grey. I would give this eye liner a 9/10 and would highly recommend it to someone looking for a good quality eye liner!

Product I hate-

A product that I’m really disappointed with is the L’Oreal false lash telescopic waterproof mascara. After hearing so much about this mascara from beauty gurus etc., I decided to pick one up from my local boots.  It was £10.99 so not cheap and I was expecting it to be really good, but I was really unimpressed! I heard it was good for lengthening your lashes and yes it was good at that but for volume it was awful- I could not get any product on them at all! At first I thought it might just be because it’s a new mascara and sometimes they take a while to ‘get going’ so I carried on using this but in the end gave up. I tried putting several coats on my lashes but it just looked like I had no mascara on, so I used it along with another mascara to get the volume which did help a bit but it really wasn’t great so it’s in my make-up collection for when I run out of my favourites! So I would give this product a 3-4/10 (for the lengthening) and I won’t be purchasing this again. However everyone is different and gets on with different products better than others so you may love this product, but for me it’s a no no, I’ll be sticking to my favourite- Maybelline rocket mascara.

MUA Eye Pencils

I'm in LOVE!!!
For just £1 each these are amazing (and at the moment their 3 for 2 in superdrug!)
The pigmentation is great, and they last pretty much the whole day...
I use the white on the inner corners of my eyes and on my bottom water line to brighten my eyes up, And the brown or black as a liner on the lash line.

There's a great choice of colours, and they are pretty soft, much like a kohl pencil however you do new to use them a bit first to soften them up. They also come with a free sharpener!
Mine stay put pretty much through a whole school day, so about 6 hours.
I'd highly recommend these pencils, there affordable, and don't leave your eyes looking 'cheap'.

Haul!

So yesterday I went out shopping, and as usual I ended up in Superdrug! I may as well live there!
So lets get straight into this little haul!

First thing I picked up was a Miss Sporty Hollywood Lipgloss in the colour - Malibu Street
This Lipgloss costs just £2.99
This is a beautiful pale pink lipgloss which is full of shimmer. The pinkyness of it doesn't really show up on the lips, as it looks like a clear shimmery lipgloss, however this is going to look beautiful over a Matte lipstick in the summer!

Secondly I got the Sleek lipgloss in the colour - 974 Blasè

I'd describe this lipgloss to be a salmony Orange with a hint of a coral tone in it. Like the Mac Dazzle Glasses this lipgloss has a brush wand instead of a slanted doe-foot applicator. I prefer this way of applying lipgloss. This lipgloss has a medium pigmentation and I can't wait to wear it in summer! This costs £3.99!

The next item I got was the Miss Sporty Waterproof 24hr Wear Mascara in -Black
The size of the want on this mascara is HUGE and really reminds me of the Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara. I really like this mascara it doesn't clump up and it glides on smoothly.I don't   know how long it lasts through out the day as I haven't tried it all day yet, However I have high hopes for this bargain mascara at just £3.99.

This next Item is the MUA blusher in - Shade 1! (I wish they had names!)
Its a pretty corally pink colour with some salmon undertones to it. Ive never tried an MUA blush before so Im quite excited to try it out! The MUA range is SO cheap, yet I love many of their products like the Intense Kisses lipglosses and their amazing pound lipsticks.  The pigmentation is fair, it i think it will build well! This product was just £1!

And Finally...
My last purchase was the MUA matte perfect foundation in - Fair
I thought id try out this foundation as because i'm very pale I find it very difficult to get a perfect matching foundation, and I''m fed up of spending a lot of money of foundation when its never a good match! This product was only £2 so even if its really bad, I haven't lost alot!

All of these products were bought at Superdrug, and can be found in the 3 for 2 Deal!

Hate - 17 Miracle Matte Skin Primer

This is a products I 100% would not recommend to anyone! It's safe to sayI strongly dislike this product!
I bought it because it was 3 for 2 on everything at Boots and I needed a new foundation, and the Matte miracle foundation caught my eye, which by the way is amazing! So to accompany it I also got the matte pressed powder and this skin primer too, to try them all out.
I was so disappointed with this purchase.
At first I thought I may have applied it wrong, so I left it for a few days and tried it again, but no... This product is awful! It's easy to apply and rubs in nicely at first, however after a while it started to go blotchy and peel! Even though I used the exact same brand of foundation it came out horribly wrong! I thought it may be okay if I made sure it had all been rubbed in. Big Mistake! My face continued to be patchy and it dried up into clumps.
Considering this product was £4.99 I assumed it would be half decent, but I was wrong!
The foundation however I love, it has a fairly good coverage and you don't need to use a lot which means it will go a long way.
The fact that the foundation is good makes this purchase even more disappointing.
In my opinion this primer doesn't even deserve a 1/10 , although it may be different for everyone, for me it's a big NO!

Mac Viva Glam Nicki

MAC VIVA GLAM NICKI Lipstick Satin
I first saw this lipstick when visiting the Mac counter with my friend Sadie last week, and instantly new i wanted it, however it would have been my 3rd Mac lipstick within 2 months if i did buy it... However Sadie persuaded me and after much conflict between my head and heart, i made the purchase and im SO glad i did!

Mac Vivia Glam Nicki is one of Nicki Minaj's lipsticks in the Viva Glam range, in which ALL of the proceeds go to the Mac AID's fund, which is one of the reasons i felt less guilty about buying it!

A quote from the  http://www.macaidsfund.org/ says;
"The M·A·C AIDS Fund’s mission is to serve people of all ages, all races and all sexes affected by HIV and AIDS. To partner with the bold, the visionary and the brave who confront the epidemic in countries and communities where people are most neglected, off the radar and at highest risk. Responsive, agile and alert, MAF funds innovative programs that deal directly with the most marginalized, stigmatized and under-heard victims. MAF celebrates humanity, life, creativity and individuality. Making a difference, one VIVA GLAM lipstick at a time."

Now on to the Review!
It is a satin finnish so it has a semi-matte finnish and its conditioning to the lips, which i enjoy because unlike the amplified lipsticks it doesnt gather, and the pigmentation is AMAZING! You need the smallest amount across the lip, and it lasts pretty well. I reccomend retouching it up about every 3 hours! As always the smell of this Lipstick reminds me of cake mixture... Mac always make their lipsticks smell good!
That was with just one stroke!

I'd highly reccomend this lipstick to anyone daring enough for the brights!

Storage Solutions

I don't know why I am so fussy about storing my makeup, maybe it's because I see all these perfects makeup tables, and I envy them so much!

Creating a accessible yet affordable makeup table can be fun to put together and arrange too! I'm always swapping mine about!
Here are some tips for creating your perfect makeup table!

1) Stackable Storage
Being able to put your makeup in to category's is great because it means you know where each item is when doing your makeup. Places such as Poundland, Wilkinson's and Asda's sell some great storage solutions, such as these two draw chests, which are stackable and can fit lipsticks, lip glosses, mascara and blushers is perfectly! I got mine from Poundland and they had the choice of Black or Silver. Also stacking your storage means that you have more work surface space!

2) Empty Containers
Using old see through plastic food containers is great as you can see what your storing inside of them, they also come in many shapes and sizes so you can use it for different things.

3) Brushes & Beads
Filling cups or mugs with beads gives you a great stand for makeup brushes to be stored in, not only would a glass and pretty coloured beads look pretty, but you could also use a pretty patterned mug to match your surroundings. If your unable to use beads then rice and sand are also alternatives.

Rimmel London, Eye Glistener

Walking around Poundland I stumbled across this amazing little find...
Rimmel London Eyeful Eye Glistener -700 Flaunt

Wow! The pigmentation is great!
It's a beautiful champagne colour, and looks great along the lash line with any natural base colour. This  product can also work all over the lid, however it gives a great splash of colour to a natural look.
For £1 you can't complain about the price!

One stroke swatches.

This product is a bargain. It was the only colour in the Poundland near me however I believe their may be others available.

How to spot a fake MAC lipstick

Now days their are so many great replicas of fake products, however if you only want the real deal, then before you buy, do some research!

1) Fake mac lipsticks are often in a different size container to the real one, as seen as followed, the lipstick on the left is the real and on the right is the fake. The al lipstick is a little bit smaller than the real mac lipstick, unfortunately unless you are buying it in person and have a real mac lipstick with you this is often tricky to tell.
2) If you look at the label underneath the sticker should have slight texture to it and not look as if it has just been printed off. The real mac sticker also shouldn't say Mac on it, however the fake one does.
3) The ring around the opening of the fake mac normally tends to be more shiny than the real one. The real mac ring is a matt finished silver metal look, however on the fake it is quite shiny, not matt.
4) The fake mac lipstick is printed on to the container and can scratch of easily, however the real mac writing is slightly engraved and it is very hard for it to come off!

Hopefully some of these ways will help you tell if your buying the real mac or not. Here are some extra tips for you.

-Only buy from trusted sellers, such as the mac website, shop or counter.
-The real mac containers are smooth and don't feel horrible when you scratch it with you nail.
-If it's cheaper than £10 it probably isn't real.
-On the boxes of the mac lipsticks it should say 'Back 2 Mac' on the inner tab.

Hope this helped!

Beautiful Sinful Colors!

Recently I've had a bit of a mad obsession with nail polishes... Yes, I went overboard! Previously I'd been given 3 Sinful Colors nail polishes from a friend, and I really enjoyed using them. I had never seen them before until the yesterday in Boots! They have now brought out a range in England, as previously they hadn't been available.

I couldn't resist...!
I would have bought the whole stand at only £1.99 each they are a steal, but I controlled my self and purchased two beautiful colour

Colour on the left is called Frenzy. It's a beautiful purple and blue glitter... Very me! It leaves a nice Finnish over the top of coloured polishes, however if your going to wear iron it's own, I think it may need two coats, at least.
The Second colour is called Daredevil...I think the name says it all! It's a brilliant bright pink, with a slight shimmer to it! This also needs around 2 coats for it to be opaque.

I would definitely rate this nail polish to absolutely everybody, they are even comparable to OPI I feel! Such a bargain price and amazing colour range!

*Products paid for by myself.
Two coats of daredevil, one coat of frenzy.
